Rockin' Hard in Mexico
This post is a little overdue considering summer is technically gone but I live in Florida so is it ever really gone? (And can it please go away because it's mid October and it still feels like we’re 6 feet away from the sun) Right after my last summer trip to Mexico, the chaoticness of senior year and post vacation reality PTSD kicked in so I’ve barely had a chance to catch up on here but don’t worry I’m back, ready to share, and here to stay!
Another summer, another trip to Mexico, but this time I brought the party and by party, I mean my best friends (and my parents of course). My favorite place with my favorite people, have you heard of anything better? Yes, add on unlimited food and drinks and this dream was my reality! #Blessed
You know the saying, “leave them wanting more so they will always want to come back?” Well that is exactly how I feel about Hard Rock Hotel Rivera Maya. This past summer marks the third time I have stayed in the resort and I’ll truly never get tired of it. Whoever said Disney was the happiest place on earth, clearly has not experienced the magic in Hard Rock Rivera Maya. The resort is split into two sections, Hacienda for the families and Heaven exclusively for guests over 18. So of course most of our time was spent in Heaven, where the sound of kids screaming and splashing were replaced by the bartender yelling, “SHOTS” by the pool. But if you’re into more peace and quiet, the beaches were definitely a place to be. Yes, beaches, plural. There are many different beachfronts throughout their coastline making it much easier to relax and find your own quiet spot. They created wave breakers from the ocean to make it more safe to swim in and offer you many water activities such as snorkeling or kayaking.
But let’s be real, as much as we were there to relax, we were also there to do just the opposite, get a little crazy. I mean cmon, it’s unlimited drinks on vacation with no tab to keep track of? We were ready to party and that's exactly what we did as the hotel hosts a weekly foam party at the pool with music and games. Besides for the few time we were kind of choking on foam, it was a blast! It wasn’t a regular foam party… it was a cool foam party *mean girls voice*. There might even be a twerk contest too… but I’ll let you find that out for yourself. There was no need to feel sticky and gross in your clothes at a dirty club because you were already in the pool, by the bar, drink in hand, and with some apparently human friendly foam that disintegrates easily. But the party didn’t stop there, Heaven has its own nightclub and it’s unlike any other I have seen. The club has a pool and jacuzzi inside, which by the way they should probably heat up since it feels like it’s about -3 degrees in there but no temperature can stop you after a couple drinks. And after the night is over, all you have to do is walk back to your room, order room service, and start again the next day. It’s Heaven, literally.
Not only are the activities great but the staff is even better! They treat you better than your grandma on your birthday, and that's saying a lot. There are so many staff members throughout the hotel ready to accommodate you to the best of their ability and with a smile on their face no matter what. Heaven really is full of angels.
Even though everything you need is inside the resort, we decided to get adventurous and experience the Aventuras Mayas tour. This tour takes you zip lining above the jungle, rappeling into a mayan cave, snorkeling in crystal clear water inside a natural sinkhole and the beautiful Yal-Ku Lagoon. During these activities, an authentic Mexican lunch is provided and if you know me, you know Mexican food is everything I love and need in life. Taco Tuesday is every day in my point of view, why would anyone limit that to just one day of the week? But anyways, the tour was amazing and we got to experience the natural beauty Mexico has to offer and trust me, they have so many great places and culture you must see for yourself.
Long story short, I’m leaving for Mexico tomorrow. Just kidding, I wish. But that’s how badly I want to go back already. There are so many things to do, not only in the hotel but around Mexico as well and I encourage everyone to find out for themselves since it’s one of my favorite places to go. Hard Rock is sure to treat you like the rock star you are.
Video coming soon... so I guess you're going to have to come back for more :)
